Japan – Vertical Impressions

I had the great pleasure to live in and travel around Japan for a summer period. It was a fiest to both eye and mind and I brought home a massive amount of photographs about daily life, culture, architecture, people and hundreds of odd things I encountered during my stay. Japan felt to me like an admirable society in a parallel universe that combines the familiar and the bewildering.

Instead of only publishing albums with a straightforward topic, location or event, the series below shows a harmonic blend of impressions away from precise context. All images presented below have been shot vertically (hochkant), which you will rarely seen on this site.
